Hi All,
Been a lurker for a while just trying to learn as much as I can about the bike in pieces in my garage. I have a 1984 R65LS that I found in a barn. Everything is there and almost everything is working but I decided to rebuild it. My question is I found what looks like rubber engine mounts on it and I have read that they never really solved the vibration problem and could cause other problems. Can anyone tell me what pn's I need to find to replace the stock engine mounts?
Thanks

Here's a good place to search:
http://www.ascycles.com/Illustrated_catalog/R65(78-85)/catalog_frameset.html
Seems the solid mount bolts are less problematic.
We love photos hereabouts. Show us yours... wait, that didn't quite come out right! Welcome to the asylum. Monte

Thanks Monte. I used the online fiche at Realoem and Maxbmw and now this one you supplied. I can find the correct drawing and the correct part but there is a blank in the parts list. It skips from item 7, 8, 9, to item 11. The part I need is item 10. It doesn't show as no longer available, it just doesn't show at all. If I even knew what size it was I am sure I could find something to fit.
And thanks for the welcome to the asylum. I have been a "patient" on the K bike side for a while and just decided to enter the airhead world.
This is the only pic I can find right now. Still a work in progress.

Marc,
If you go to REALOEM.com, and instead of using the R65 in the vehicle search, use R65GS-R80ST 80-92, then select R80ST, then USA, then choose a date of manufacture, I used 03/1983.
Go to the footrest section, and you will see a diagram that shows the spacer, and also has a part number.
46712311726
I have also checked other bikes manufactured in the same time frame of the early '80's, and found another part number of : 46712311727.
Some of the descriptions of the part label it as a flat washer, but by the illustration, it's shows it to be a spacer.
You could use a washer stack-up, in place of the rubber isolator, don't have the specific dimension for the spacer, but it looks to be around .375 in ( about 3/8ths of an inch).

Thanks Bob. That is exactly what I needed.

Glad to help !!
If you do ever run across a parts diagram that shows the part, but does not have a part number listed, try doing a search of other bikes of different displacement, manufactured in the same month and year, and chances are good, that it will have a part number.

I measured mine and it would appear to be ~7mm thick. 12mm ID / 31mm OD. None of the dimensions would be critical. Stack some washers or drill out the center of a couple of nuts and grind to 7mm thick. FWIW 1/2" = 12.7mm
I used the Chevy rubber motor mount bushings for several years but eventually put the oem spacers back in place. The improvement in handling was noticeable.
