Title: Carrier made
Post by: steve_wicks on March 24, 2009, 10:29:23 AM
I finaly got round to making a carrier for my topbox.

Quick, simple and nasty using flat bar as it is a 'prototype' which will be adapted to also carry my mountainbike .....

Panniers still fit and I used a flat piece of aloooominum (see, I speak American!) to finish off the bare rear end of the seat.

Looks good, are you going to leave off the tail cowl?

Yup, I will leave off tailpiece. The seat needs recovering and once that's done I'll finish the bare underside with a piece of sheet metal - probably painted black.

I've also been toying with the idea of fitting an LED tail light and new indicators to the carrier which would neaten up the rear and make the tail/brake light more visible.

I intend keeping the bike as a commuter and really am not too concerned about originality.
