The previous owner had a piece of foam wedged in between the gearbox and the sump, as they said it was a minor leak that they didn't want to fix.
I assumed it was the neutral switch, which also didn't work.
I changed the switch, neutral now indicates but their is oil seeping down from between the gearbox and engine.
Seeing as this is a dry clutch, I'm guessing that it's possibly a driveshaft seal in the gearbox, any hints/advice on this? how hard, timeframes, other sources of leaks here? Anyone want to fly to Darwin and fix it for me?
I'm a bit worried that it has only been a minimal leak, so I thought it can't be too bad, but this morning I finally got around to topping up the gearbox oil. It will be interesting to see whether the leak increases now that it has some oil to leak out. I swear it must have taken the full 0.8 litres of oil.

Although I'll probably have to do the whole gearbox, as I also have a leak from the gear selector shaft as well.

Can you tell what type of fluid is leaking out ?
Most likely, it is a rear main seal, or oil pump cover o-ring leaking.

If it is gear lube then the input shaft seal may be leaking.

I'm fairly certain it's gear oil, which i guess is backed up by the lack of oil in the gearbox.

Darwin,
Both of the seals you mention are easy to replace, once you have the gearbox out of the bike.
One is around the input shaft to the gearbox.
The other, as you know, is around the shift-shaft.
I've never replaced either one, myself. I hear of folks talking about the input shaft seal being easy. (seal puller? might be time to get one). I haven't heard too much about the shift shaft, except make sure it is in straight and flat, or else your shifting will suffer.
They are probably just old.
