Title: Fuel Filter Choices?

I'm curious as to how many people rely on the standard fuel filters built into the tap and use just a fuel line as shown here, and how many add an inline fuel filter as shown resting next to the carb in this photo?

Definitely an inline filter. The one in the tank is a plastic moulding. It filters boulders, icebergs, that kind of thing  :D

Be careful with very cheap filters, the design sometimes doesn't have the filter element completely sealed. Fuel just runs past it. You'll see by looking at it. The big one in your pic is s good one.

Not sure about the little one, although it does look pretty.

This is the 1 I use. It can be gotten from EME , i change it every oil change.

I've been using an inline filter for about 40 years .
When I removed the float bowls, I always found a few globs of water and fine gritty sediment .
I currently use a pleated paper element filter, Visufilter 8437-03-9909 . .
If you start using an inline filter be aware that it could be too restrictive .
On the first few various filters I started using, I developed a high speed miss after 15 minutes of  highway speeds .
