Title: Forum hosting renewal time
Post by: Justin B. on May 30, 2026, 10:18:20 PM
I really hate passing the hat but renewal time just snuck up on me.  I renew in three year blocks to get a bit of a discount and this time it was a bit over $400 so if anybody feels they get some benefit from the forum I would not turn down any help.   :drowning: I could save money switching to a lower tier of service but I don't think you guys would appreciate the performance hit.  A new member recently pitched in $100 even before I got him registered!

I have not ridden for over two years so I need y'all to start thinking about a new admin to take over as I would hate for the site to go away.  :behead:

I'd be happy to contribute, if you still need some $. PM me.

I can't offer/guarantee time to do a site admin though.

Dog - I appreciate the offer but you have chipped in very generously in the past and it's time for others to step up.  But, to answer your questionI'm about $300 short...

Hi Justin

Have you got a PayPal address for contributions, if not where do I send a donation.

Very sorry to hear your riding days are drawing to a close.I need two new knees in order to continure riding adventure bikes, I am still OK on my R860 for the present, but both my RS and JPS are currently for sale, as is my GSA.

In the interim I have bought a little Chinese 250cc cafe racer to get around on. At least it has pushrods.

Tony - The yellowish "Donate" button at the top right of the page should do it.

Never heard of "compact headers," so, no!  Maybe we've found the next admin? Sign him up!  :deal2:

OK, y'all, we have had 4 very generous donors step up and the bill is paid so we are covered for a couple more years.

Justin.

Have a look at the very top of the welcome page and then at the caret to the right of the "Simple Machines" logo.

Click on it and see what it does.

As regards the admin role - not a chance! I resigned from all office positions in the physical club I am a member of. All I plan on doing now is dabbling here and in Facebook to pass on knowledge and ride my bikes while I still can.

I am selling some of my BMWs and have given my GSA away to someone who will love it and use it.
Next on the downsizing list is my workshop. If there is anyone in Australia interested in buying a pretty complete workshop that includes a lathe, milling machine, shaper, press, bead blaster, compressor and a significant stock of metrology equipment, give me a message. Sale for the lot at around $20k, not interested in breaking it up.
