Title: left my repair manual on the other coast, where is the fuse box?
Post by: davenerk on August 28, 2025, 05:59:38 PM
its a silly question but i just havent needed to know.  1986 r65.  i worked on the speedometer and now that its back together, the neutral light and the high beam indicator work but the instrument lights dont.  i figure its either the weird plug-on connector on the back of the instrument cluster, or maybe there is a fuse just for the instrument lights.  the fuse would be easier so i am starting there.  is there a separate fuse just for those lights?  whereabouts?  otherwise ill open the thing up again and starting testing those leads onto the flexible ribbon.  thank you!

There are only the 2 fuses just below the rear of the tank.
The PCB bulb holders inside the instruments are very basic and some cleaning and fiddling of them might solve your problem.
Yes, that white connector is horrible, but mine seemed reliable enough.
