Title: BMWR65 Carb flowing gas out of air opening behind BING Plate
Post by: jdawson_83R65 on August 28, 2025, 01:45:14 PM
My BMW R65 BING Carb is leaking, flowing out what looks to be an air release behind the "BING" plate. Riders left side. The right side has the same air opening with no leaking. Bad floats? The spring did pop off last fall and I pressed the cover back up and pressed the spring back in place. The floats might have gotten out of "wack"... Will pull open again and see if I can reset floats in place. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

I've not had displaced floats, despite distorted cork gasket. I have had corrosion junk in the needle valve and old/saturated plastic floats.

My carbs overflow through a brass pipe in the bottom of the bowl. Yours must be different, or I've never noticed a second hole. Someone here will know for sure.
