Title: More great sci-fi
Post by: dogshome on February 21, 2025, 03:39:59 PM
I just watched Adam Sandler in "Spaceman". Don't search it, just watch.

If you like classic sci fi, this delivers

I am having a hard time visualizing Sandler in a SciFi flick, unless it's a comedy spoof!  Guess I have to search for it.

Started watching it last night, but turned off after 30mins.

The premise is great, the execution is poor.

I love SciFi and life is too short to watch bad SciFi.

I enjoyed it  :)

The missus got as far as the companion who appears and basically hid behind the couch waiting for the 'inevitable'  ;D

Just finished Halo series 1&2. Totally different sent up. Lots of action, almost zero plot, but kept the missus and I entertained. Until - the last episode of the second series, which killed-off all the interesting characters. Electric State has had a slating, but will give that a go. See if it stands up to Wall-E.

Like Will Farrell,  I really can't watch Adam Sandler in anything

He can be totally cringeworthy. Ewan Almighty.... He turned the carp off and played it straight in this film though.

We finally got around to watching this.  I will say it was nothing like I expected and something of a "yawner."

A Year later. The Hail Mary Project. More accessible (to the luddites out there, you know who you are) than some Sci-fy. It kept the missus and I entertained from start to finish. Some may say a bunch of bananas and a scratching stick would acheive the same  :vrolijk_26:

Better than Englands performance against Norway? This guy knows what he's talking about: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c7vy25lqll6o (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c7vy25lqll6o)

For what it's worth, a recommendation  :Norton:

My wife and I watched Project Hail Mary last weekend after having both read the book. We really liked it.
