Title: APM BOK
Post by: dogshome on September 17, 2024, 02:19:24 PM
The Association of Project Managers produces a text on how to manage projects (Duh!). It's pretty dull, but one can get a qualification and it has some good ground rules about how to go about some new construction. Six Sigma is an equivalent poncy named framework. Both are schoolbooks about how to behave.

The APM also produces the Nechronomicon. They don't advertise that. This is for when your customer acts like a complete clot as they work their notice. I'm sorry to say I had to reference the book today to put said clot back in his box. I'd have liked to invoke clause 66 (Chainsaw) but am too soft  :uhoh2:

Clause 7 (Binding) having to do in it's place.

Yes, i had a bad day at work  >:(

Said clot has now backed behind his keyboard, is not accepting phone calls and does not want to talk to me any more, because I am not positive and he does not like what I'm telling him. The guy is 60, normally OK, if a bit emotional, but now totally "diva".

He sent me a Dutch English translation joke a couple weeks ago, and I get there are cultural differences, but folding your arms, backing away and taking the ball home isn't something I've encountered since I was 7. If ever. This is an approach to project management (and adulthood) that i've not experienced before.

I am sure he is under extreme pressure (although I keep offering to help) and is venting on the easiest target (me!). I have some compassion for him, but he only has 2 days to go and I hope I never see him again. I've never felt that way about anybody before ????!!!  :o

Actually, no scratch that. I hope I do see him again when he's calmed down, got treatment or realised what happened to him. I really hope he doesn't continue to carry what is crushing him at the moment.

Don't think I've ever met a 60yo Snowflake!  You have stumbled upon a rare species!  :ROTFLMAO:

Snowflake amazingly survives in a consulting capacity, part time for a few weeks. His colleagues are thankfully now thinking for themselves, and his rants and tantrums are quickly being ignored.

My boss, who is the most reasonable and considered person out there, has now also ran out of tether. He has young kids and wrote to snowflake in the way one would speak to naughty 5 year-olds. I wish I could post it. A fine work, worthy of any campaigned headmaster, putting an errant child back in their box.

The daft thing is that snowflake appears to have gained a job doing exactly the same as what he just flounced out of. It probably appeals to his self-importance. I suppose these people normally gravitate to politics, to find one in engineering is new for me.

So just out of curiosity, is the said snowflake ghey?  In the past I have noticed that the tendency to act in the ways you describe appears to be strongly associated with those that suffer from gheyness.

Not that I have anything against those that suffer this affliction, as I have known the odd one in the past.  One particularly affable chap was deeply embarrassed when admitting to the love bite on his neck being caused by his boyfriend.

Two separate things. Your sexual preference doesn't define your persona.

No, I genuinely think he is suffering stress. He sent another 'global' email compalining and pointing the finger. Every fact was incorrect and it was very emotional. I was going to reply and shoot him down, like the boss did, but I think I'll call him and ask how he is instead. You never know, he might open up.

I have a feminine side, but am not ghey. Big Boy..........
