Having trouble with throttle not returning.Cables have been checked for kinks, and they return fine when using pliers.Problem seems to arise when putting the top plate back on the throttle cam,if the screw is in secure no return, loosen the screw no problem with return, what am I missing here.?????

Do you have the throttle tube and cam aligned properly ?
Other possibility, is the throttle tube and cam are worn, not an unusual issue .

All aligned on the marks, works perfect, until the top screw is fully tightened

I think the peg on the top plate is jamming with the slot in the twistgrip. Not Jammin, Jammin, but Jamming
Did you move or loosen the switch unit on the bar at all? My bike has been down on its RHS at some point and the end of the handlebar was a bit chavelled (inside the twist grip). if you slid the switch unit and twist grip too far on, it would catch on the end of the bar - the tightening of the top plate making it stick.

Recently fully cleaned out my throttle tube and all of the cam gear situation. Toothpicks, brushes and lots of degreaser. I don't remember off the top of my head but someone here recommended white lithium grease and that worked a lot better than the pasty grease that was in there beforehand. Real snappy now. Not saying thats the answer but it could help eliminate that problem if you haven't evacuated that cavity recently.
