Anyone have any experience with Keihan mufflers on their dual muffler R65 ?

Yup ! In the past, I fitted Keihans to an R100RS. I found them to be excellent items, no rust  :) . The only drawback is that if one gets dinged it costs more to replace. recently I fitted 'Sito' Italian silencers to the R65, they're ok for the money and do sound nice. Quality control ain't great though and the chrome finish falls victim to rust quite easily  >:(

So, Lars, were the Keihans as quiet as OEMs?

They are a top or the range product that cost top of the range money.

However you do get what you pays for.

Being a cheapskate and wanting a different style pipe , I went for some cheap reverse con megga's.

But definately worth having (especially if your not buying them) if the the rst of the bike is good and its a keeper.

It was some years since I had Keihans. I think at that time they were just slightly louder than original equipment, but only a little. They sounded nice enough. it's possible they may have changed their spec and sound different nearly 20 years later on, although I've not heard anything to suggest this the case. Enjoy  :)
