Title: IT......Lives!.......
Post by: dogshome on November 22, 2022, 01:55:22 PM
Trusty Saab still kicking. An injection of new oil, brake clean and an electrostatic charge of timing belt makes the monster...... LIVE!!!  :vrolijk_26:

48MPG, Load capacity of a van, Aero handling and brakes, 400NM and 180BHP. No rocket ship, but raises an eybrow occasionally. She is a bit like "Trigger's Broom" in that most parts have been replaced. But the heart still pulses...

2017, 190,000 miles of which I've done 140,000. £5,500.00 purchase price 9 years ago

15 gallons of engine oil
15 oil filters
12 litres of ATF
3 litres of PS fluid
0.5L brake fluid
7 air filters
2 cabin filters
~2 sets of discs
~4 sets of brake pads
3,200 gallons of fuel :-)
Couple of Poly engine mounts
Poly subframe and rear suspension bushes
Rear shocks and second hand carriers
Front shocks (second hand)
Odd other bushes and brake hard lines
1 swirl flap plug kit
3 cam belt kits
1 wheel bearing
1 set parking brake shoes
1 set glow plugs
1 intercooler, pipes & 1 aircon rad
Only real failure was PS cooler (which took out pump) and then a second PS cooler (which I caught).
I think that's about it?

Original exhaust (!). Original DPF, EGR, crank sensor, rad and everything else. Current market value ~£1,000.00. This is what really killed Saab: stone reliability and therefore no new sales  :-\

Not bad.  I had a '93 Volvo 240 that was pushing 300K miles when I got rid of it.
