I've noticed this year, that it's the quietist posting wise that I've seen in years, especially considering that it's the riding season in the northern hemisphere !!!
-
I check the site every day and notice that a lot of days there is nothing going on
-
Could be everyone is out riding?
FWIW
-
My beemer is in a relatively unproblematic state, not much to say.
Gonna need a new clutch some time soon, I'll probably have a local shop do it.
-
Ditto. Mine is running well :-)
-
I look in every few days but there are not many posts.
Sadly I think we have not, a d are unlikely too, regain the membership lost during the protracted log in problems.
-
Most of my questions can be answered by a search of the site. I've just done the clutch and rear main of my '84 LS (Sydney is in covid lock down) and between a read of this site and Snowbum's all my questions were answered. So, no need to post.
I agree with Tony though: I've been expecting traffic to return to normal following the login problems but that doesn't seem to be happening.

The bikers in the UK are invariably 'getting on a bit' and those that have decided to splurge their pensions and not spend £££ on holidays (due to covid) have perhaps spent it on newer bikes? My 70 year old neighbour has a new Street Triple and is already complaining it isn't fast enough.
Another 60 year old retired guy with a rebuilt spine who walks with a stick and is in continuous pain is zipping around on his R1200GS. At least my other neighbor has an RD400, SR500, an old Sportster and a 400/4 that I know of. He has a lockup somewhere and is slowly moving bikes into his new garage at home. Lots of tinkering behind closed doors! Occasionally we get to see what he has this month. Also retired and well into his 60s.
All the bikes I see on the road are much newer than airheads and the club I belong to is all modern (expensive) stuff they take to the dealer for servicing. I haven't seen another airhead on the road out here in 3 years. Some GS but mainly fast 4 cylinder Japanese stuff. The occasional 1950s or earlier British single. I'm on the road to the coast from the Midlands, so small groups of very fast bikes, going very fast.
-
I've noticed as well, that there are no airhead bikes on the streets locally, except for a neighbor on the next street south of me, who has an '82 LS .
-
I must admit I had given up on trying to log in to this forum. I had been getting a bit of R65 action on the Facebook group to keep me going but good to be back. I reset my password today and will try to catch up on missed posts.
-
I've seen complaints on FB about the registration button being disabled ..... I just checked and sure enough it is! Can't get new blood with the door closed
-
There has been no registration button for years since the spammer debacle. There are instructions at the top of the screen stating:
"To register send an e-mail to admin@bmwr65.org and provide your location and desired user name.
I just changed this text to display in red to make it stand out. If anybody is on the Facebook group let them know we are still alive and all they have to do is follow the instructions.
-
I don't see any instructions at the top of the home page !!!
-
Actually, it should be at the top of 'most every page. I have circled it in red on the attached pic...
-
I can't see it on any page .
-
How about now? The "Global Announcement" function was an add-on mod that I didn't realize added a "permission" to the config that needed to be set.
-
Works now, thanks for getting it updated !!!!
-
I wish I had known earlier! Not that this is "fixed" maybe people will start using the Gallery as well. Already got a new user request! ;D
