Title: Gertie on Le Tour de Yorkshire
Post by: Lucky_Lou on March 22, 2015, 03:00:10 PM
Took advantage of a nice day to have a blast on the "Strines" the route followed by last years Tour de France through South Yorkshire, the sections which were part of the tour route were great having been resurfaced the rest were a nightmare, the road (I use the term loosely) in particular the road out of Mid Hope has to be the worst in Europe undaunted I had a great ride. The route takes you down to the Derbyshire border and the Derwent valley

Spectacular views quiet roads twist's hairpins 1 in 4 inclines fresh air and a Boxer engine throbbing between your legs......... whats not to like life is good on days like these.

Gertie is looking as lovely as ever and great shots of Yorkshire for our international friends.

I had to go across to Pinderfields yesterday as we have a major installation going on, on the way back mid afternoon, it was good to see so many bikers out enjoying the nice weather.

If you ever come for a spin over to the right side of Pennines and find your self's in Langdale, drop me a line and I'll make you a brew.

Thanks Tony, I have a lot of relatives in Cumbria so I do get up occasionally, i spent a lot of time up your way as a kid, I would be shipped out to my Aunts who was a district nurse in Cockermouth for the long summer school holidays and spent idyllic days fishing and walking happy days............................
