We're heading south from Vancouver Island to Arizona to get away from the cold and rain for a while. Planning 3-4 weeks and over 4000 miles.
I'll post some details on the way.
-
Sounds like a good run, enjoy it and take lots of pictures.
-
Take WARM photos!
-
We're in California but still not warm! The bike is running great but the. Carbs keep going out of synch. I make adjustments every day or two.
-
Gotta be warmer than Vancouver island! Nice pic.
-
That's weird about the carbs. Is it the mixture or idle speed screws, or is it something in your throttle cables that keeps changing?
I see your paint is wearing off the gas tank the same way mine is, though mine is worse. I guess that's a good sign. It is not caused by the bike sitting too much.

By chance, were you going through Phoenix on Jan. 14 ??
I saw a red airhead with white pinstripes, driver had a red jacket with black sleeves and a red helmet at around 1450 on my way home from work .
There was a passenger as well, but couldn't get a good look due to heavy traffic .
Just caught sight of you as I got off at my exit, a few miles before you leave the populated area of Phoenix on eastbound I-10 .
I was on a light metallic blue oilhead .
-
That was us!
We're heading out now, back the way we came. Here's a pic from big tree country where we're headed.
-
What is your planned route for the trip back home ???
-
Back on the 10 E and then the 5 N. The rocker arm repair set us back a few days so we have to hustle.
Last night we camped south of Quartzsite on BLM land. Today we hope to be W of LA, maybe Hungry Valley.
-
Camping near Joshua Tree National Park. Still pretty cold at night. It didn't really get warm until we arrived in Tucson. A long way to go for a week of warm weather. Next time we'll go a little later in the season.
The trip back was quicker, along I5 for the most part.

This is the kind of traveling I loved doing, but hardly seem to do anymore
-
What brand of tent are you using? Seems to be a fly-first style which seems so logical.
-
What brand of tent is that? Looks like a smart fly-first setup one. Thanks
