Still unpacking while downloading way too many photos of the Barber Vintage Festival but suffice to say the event continues to exceed expectations.
I will post a few photos just as soon as I can and will provide a link for additional images.
In the meantime...
Visited with Rick Jones -owner/operator/innovator/president and head janitor of Motorrad Elektrik. http://www.motoelekt.com/index.html Besides sending his thanks to his bmwr65.org customers, Rick shared with me that he will soon release an electronic system, similar to his Alpha system, but simpler, which will replace the points ignition on any 1970-78 Airhead.

And, while strolling the Vintage Motorcycle Assn area, I spotted Craig Vechorik of Bench Mark Works. http://www.benchmarkworks.com/ Actually, what I really spotted was his rare and so very immaculate 1961 R50S. "Vech" was rattling off all the special features of the "S" that I missed most all of 'em.
Then Vech said, "Since you're here, give me a hand," with setting up my side car rig (a 1942 R75 used by the German Army) and his 1932 R4 Series-1. I felt very lucky to be able to lay hands on these two unique BMW motorcycles.
I'll give a heads up when the photos are ready.

Some nice guys, they are. Pretty sure they still put their pants on one leg atta time. Once they know you're a real paying customer of theirs, doors and opportunities kinda open up. Being lucky may have something to do with it, too. ;)

Met Craig at a Return To Shiloh rally a few years back, and met Rick at the MOA Rally in Johnson City, TN. Both are class gentlemen. Nice of you to lend a hand Monte. Want to hook up my trailer for next year's Barber Vintage Festival? No doubt there will be a classic with you name on it.

The plan for Zach and I to attend this year's Barber Vintage Festival went down the toilet when the danged gub'mint shut down and all military leaves were cancelled. "The Plan" was to drive SFC Miller's honkin' big truck and perhaps return with a new toy or two.
Already making plans for the next Vintage Fest. We might squeeze you in, too. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
...still working on those event photos.

Well, the BMWRA's National Rally will be held there next year, last weekend in May..

Did ya see any nice R27s there? That is THE one vintage BMW I want to own before I'm too old to ride anymore! ;)

Just the beauty in the museum but I don't think George would sell it. :(
