Title: Magnolia Station
Post by: montmil on May 11, 2013, 03:30:04 PM
Getting my Kitchen Pass from the Chief of the House to attend the Oklahoma Airheads Tech Day was pretty simple. All it required was taking Pretty Wife to lunch at a re-purposed gas station in Pilot Point, Texas.

The Magnolia Station offers great food in an al fresco setting. We arrived just before the lunch crunch and I parked the Trophy right in front of the old pumps. The owner-chef mentioned that the bike probably drew some extra business for him. Unfortunately, no discount on my tab.

Order at a window, then walk over to a small building that was likely for oil and grease storage back in the day. Draw your ice and soda water inside. We've been to Magnolia Station before and the place can get rocking in the evenings. It's always been a motorcycle friendly kinda place.

Magnolia Petroleum later became Mobil Oil.

No fuel sold from the pumps. The only gas you get is from the spicier menu items. ;D

Re-purposing old buildings seems to be a growing trend. Pretty cool, IMO.
