How many will get the bike out for a ride on New Years Day? I gather that those in the n'orn climes will need to resort to four wheels but snow in this part of the world is generally scarce as hens teeth. For my part I'm going to try to at least put in a few miles to start the new year off.
Does anyone else have a ride planned for tomorrow?
-
Yes, my commute to work at 0330 . :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
Temps predicted in the 60's. I will definitely get in some miles.
-
Only moderately cold but very wet of late. If the roads were to dry out I might syphon some fuel out of the car and give it a go. Can't remember when I last saw a dry road though.

I'll be riding NYD as the forecast is for a partly sunny sky with a high of 44[size=12][ch730][/size]F.
However, due to a recent Mk1 eyeball surgery, I'm still sorta under house arrest by the ophthalmologist and SWWBO -not being permitted to lift anything over ten pounds in weight for the next few weeks.
That said. the Chief of the House gets to grunt the R65 back onto the centerstand. ;D
I'll be damned if I'll ride her scooter on 01 January!

It was 33 F, .5 C. this morning at 0330 .
Minimal risk of falling asleep on the way in, better than caffiene ;D ;D .

About 40F here in Texas but the strong wind from the NW got my attention. Saddled up the R90/6 and made a 17 mile loop across the Trinity River and back home again. Now it's time for a bowl of Hoppin' John! (black eyed peas and ham)

T'was 38[ch730]F, cloudy, with a brisk northerly breeze when I rolled the R65 out of the shop at about 1400 hours. Lying weather wizards... I kept waiting for their forecasted 48[ch730] and partly sunny. Didn't happen.
A belly full of the traditional, eat 'em for good luck Black-Eyed Peas, cabbage, corned beef brisket and hot cornbread made for quality road food.
Wishing all y'all a safe, healthy, prosperous and Big Texas Happy New Year.

Temp climbed to 68 by the time I headed out today. Perfect day for a ride, then home to a New Years Day traditional meal (for me) of sauerkraut, pork roast, spaetzle and rye bread. My kids hate it but I grew up with it and so will they :-)
Got to try out the new "lid" that my children gave me for Christmas.
Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!

It was a beautiful day here, though very icy most of the morning. I stayed home and cut trees down. I installed new (to me) handlebars and all new cables on my old mountain bike last night so I test rode it some and dialed stuff in, but I was too tired to go for a real ride.
-
Went for a quick blat on the K75S to visit a mate who had moved house. A bit hot to stay out too long.
Nice house, nice ride and nice beer.
All good for '13 so far.

Looking rather like one of the Ton Up Boys, aren't we.
Do y'all have a local Mods vs Rockers rally as we do in several Texas cities? Great bikes, scooters and... the vintage costumes.
-
No Mods vs Rockers in this area. Being this close to Daytona everyone seems to think they have to ride a v-twin something with loud pipes. Not my style! There is one local shop, Ton Up Jacksonville that has Friday night social gatherings and I have met a few like minded individuals there.
