Title: Luckenbach (TX) Harvest Fest Rally
Post by: montmil on October 20, 2011, 06:58:32 PM
Rolling out tomorrow morning, Friday, 21 October, at Zero-Dark-Thirty heading for Fredericksburg and Luckenbach, Texas and the very way cool Harvest Fest European and Vintage Rally.

This laid back event is always on my list. Stroll thru the bikes parked under the Live Oak trees, pay homage to Hondo Crouch, admire your dream bike and the always stunning Texas ladies... all the while sipping your favorite brew from the post office slash bar in beautiful downtown Luckenbach... where everybody is somebody.

Photos will be posted whenever we return.

The Luckenbach Harvest Classic is always a laid back affair. Grab a cold beverage and a brisket sandwich, then just mosey about.

Yes, there's plenty of motorcycles to scrutinize, interesting people to watch and cute kids.
Here's what passes for high entertainment in Luckenbach:

The picker on the left is a regular. The other two guitarists and the harmonica player are motorcyclists who just dropped by to sit in for a bit. Very cool.

Scotty rolled in and I grabbed a snap of him and his new rig. The trunk on the rear of the car is huge! His Marble Falls photos are much better. Check 'em out.

This futuristic Buck Rogers-looking, all aluminum chair was attached to a bike I didn't identify. Anyone recognize it? Looks like a two-stroke engine...

Now then, my old '53 Triumph Trophy was BRG and white. It looked right. But a green chassis R90? I dunno. Might grow on you. However, the aluminum fuel tank and bum stop seat were abfab works of art.

The Italians always bring retina candy to Luckenbach. Gotta be red.

The two stroke hack looks like it might be a Jawa CZ.  Hard to read the badge.  Any snaps of all those Guzzis you mentioned?

The Buck Rodger's looking sidecar is a Duna hooked up to a Pannonia motorcycle.

Yep they were two stokes...I think most were in the 250 cc range with about 18 horse power...think they made one a bit bigger with 23hp...maybe. Thus the need for a light weight sidecar. Some folks don't like the look of a Duna...others loved it But they were suppose to be great sidecar...being all aluminum they should last forever.
