We're guys, right? I knew it had to happen. Seven -nearly eight-year old- Grandson Flynn can be so persuasive when he wants to...
Grandkids up from Austin all this week and the lad has been climbing on one motorcycle and/or scooter after another. Every day. Back and forth on all the bikes. "What's this do? What's that do?" Trying on different helmets and goggles, making varoom varoom noises and cranking handlebars left n' right. Little sister Cleo could care less..."I want chocolate!"
So what's a Grandpa to do? That's a rhetorical question, fellas, 'cause y'all know the answer. We're guys! Right?
Flynn asked me, "Are both the BMWs the same?"
"Yep," sez I... "just different colors."
"I want to ride the blue one." And so we did. That was Tuesday.
Helmets and goggles and hold on to Grandpa all the time. "Keep those feet at the end of your long legs on the pegs all the time." Let's ride !
A four-mile toot at kinda low speeds with a stop at the RC model field to watch some planes. Flynn was great. Pretty wife Lynn asked him what was the thing he remembered most? "The wind," says Grandson.
Thursday, he wanted to try the SunL scooter so off to the park and a photo opportunity. Coming home, Flynn sat in front of me and operated the throttle, horn and turn signals while Grandpa kept his hands on the grips -and brakes- just outside Flynn's hands. He absolutely loved it. So did Grandpa.

Okay, this isn't "The Blue One". The Mexico Bike was deepest in the garage so we used the other one for this sunny day photo opp.

I can just hear the women: Too dangerous, he'll fall off, and so on.
You can see just how proud they are, and I understand your joy.
I just hope that my grandson will be as interested when he gets older.
greetings from a grey north with interemittent snow showers

That's great monte! Love the pictures. My brother and his two children came to visit last summer and his DAUGHTER was the one interested in our bikes. To the point we pulled out the dirtbike and gave her lessons. She didn't do too well, couldn't keep it up on two wheels (only slow speeds in the back yard) and then I found out she hadn't ridden bicycles growing up! No wonder she was having trouble balancing.
So I took her for a ride on my R65 instead... ;D
My nephew on the other hand had no interested at all. Go figure.

Just love the smile and look on Flynn's face! You are so lucky to have kids and grandkids! I bet I would've made one weird grandma! I need a "rent-a-kid"!
BTW Monte and Lou, you are both on my bucket list to visit someday...better not wait too long though!
