The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) brought their show to the Texas Motorsports Ranch, http://www.motorsportranch.com/ south of Fort Worth, this weekend. A clear sky and mid-80 degree temps keep our jackets hung off the handlebars. I got my first sunburn of the season.
However, the steady 20-25 mph winds did create some handling issues for a few of the fully faired GP racers. Several bikes went off as the side gusts caught riders out while in the turns. Sudden loss of front tire grip was a common complaint from the competitors.
AHRMA puts on a great show. Spectators can simply sign a release, pick up a wrist band, then head off to explore the hot pits and chat up the riders. Everyone is friendly.

Sure glad we spectated on Saturday. Sunday was a crappy day but the AHRMA guys raced in the damp.
I can certainly rattle your cage when local MC events come up. Let's ride.

Triumph is...a delightful ride. 865 is a great displacement (for a 501-lb. bike), with updated seat, risers and "Billy Bars", ergonomics are near-perfect. The R65 has been in the shop for months (mostly for a brake job, then the shop owner had a (no-helmet)accident, and had to shut down for a long while-- but it's now ready, other than powder-coating the valve covers (black)-- so it will be back in the garage soon. If it doesn't sell, I might end up selling the Triumph, which would be less of a challenge... Just wish I could get the "T-100" single seat adapted to an R65 pan, though it appears to be a few inches longer (and maybe a little wider). Really GREAT seat, though-- which I've never had on a BMW, and that includes Russell, Corbin, etc.

Cool pics! My old man rode a 53 triumph just like that. I rode on the back once when I was a kid and it was very exciting! :o My brother still has it in his shed.
