Title: Wings over Illawarra, 27th Feb
Post by: dav on February 16, 2011, 05:27:09 AM
The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) is holding a event on the 27th Feb, http://www.woi.org.au/.

There will also be classic bike/car displays & vintage steam engines etc..

Father & i will be riding down on the bikes (R65 & R1200R), so lets hope there will be a few more R65's in the parking lot ;)

Should be a good day.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be there but regretably, caged due to the other half refusing to get on the back or front of a motorcycle. (That's OK, by the way; it's "my time.")

I'll keep my eye out. :)

It's time for a sidecar!

But then, my ex refused to ride in our sidecar.  She said it made her feel like a circus clown!  (She had her own bike.)

Well, actually, mine did have a bike license but fell off at an early age & didn't renew it. Her dopey son then took her for ride on his Harley & scared the life out of her. (An amazing feat, admittedly). Therefore, she has decreed, no more M'cycles.

I will never ride on the back of another motorcycle, nor will I encourage someone to ride with me.

What a great day [smiley=thumbsup.gif].

HARS put on a great event, thousands of people turned out to look at the displays of old planes & watch the airshow. We even got to have a look at the workshop where they rebuild the radial engines, my god those pots are HUGE.

Here's a few pics & the link to the rest.
