Rode the AHRMA SE trials in Aonia GA on a 1972 Montesa Cota 247 this last weekend. Had great fun. Fell some and had some clean sections.
I placed third in the Modern Classic Class (there were only three competing). I rode the #3 line and fell twice. I've got a couple of neat bruises. Seven sections done 4 times makes for a long day.
Sorry no pictures (Thank goodness). My first fall was quite humorous! Luckily the only thing hurt was my pride.

I still think that you deserve at least one 'atta boy! and a standing ovation [smiley=clap.gif] as not many of us folks on the north side of 35 are game to dive into that sort of thing again, especially on a vintage bike. I think suecanada may be itching to do something similar next year, and I say "more power to you both" !
As for serious off-road/trail work, I'll probably stick with my pedal-powered mtn bikes now - there is still broken bone potential around every tree, but the lower average speeds keep my wife happier..

Congratulations on a "Podium" finish... if its off road ill stick to 1 horse power.

I'd be nuts to try what you did Semper! Great job! Reminds me of my Mum's story about her 3rd place finish in a swimming race back in the 20's...she came third too!!!???
I have a lot more confidence building to do trials but I think it might be a great way to get just that...confidence! Maybe hare scrambles vintage style but I guess you fall harder going faster?

Bill, it's much better than finishing third in a 3 way beauty contest. Now that I have the Yami trials bike ready to ride I'm itching to take it out and have a go at it. Monte keeps telling me to take it to Barbers for the AHRMA there and I keep telling him he's nuts! With any luck I'll get it out this weekend now that the weather is getting nice. I'll try to avoid the faceplants since that would be a sure fire way to come in last in a beauty contest!

I raise my glass to you, Bill! [smiley=beer.gif]
Congrats!!
