This weekends ride in the Dales went ahead despite my riding pal breaking his arm (see my post on extreme sports!!) i rode from Croft circuit over to Richmond then followed the river Swale up Swaledale through the villages of Reeth Gunnerside and Muker all ancient viking settlements so Trolle should feel at home.I then cut across Buttertubs Pass to Hawes to visit the cafe and the Creamery of Wensleydale cheese made famous by Wallace and Grommet.
The area around Aysgarth falls was used in the Kevin Costner film Robin Hood as well as nearby Bolton Castle.
First picture is Tom wishing me well !!
Second the picture is the Green in Reeth
Third the pub in Gunnerside
Forth the Creamery in Wensleydale
and finally the stunning falls at Aysgarth
Heres some video of the run

And if the majority of the HD riders look like the ones around here, they're inside eating a half-dozen sticks of fresh butter. They've gotta maintain their "Harley Fat Boy Rider" look. ;D
Those photos are great, Lou. Wish I was riding with you.

Thanks Monte one day...... Next weekend is open day at the Leeds Harley dealership
http://www.leedsharley-davidson.co.uk/
I will go for a free coffee and doughnut (dont get freebies at funeral parlours here) my favourite Harley sales Lady will try and sell me on an overpriced Chromosexual wet dream (again) but my main reason after chatting with Anna is for a visit will be to see the new Honda dealership which as opened next door then a scoot to the BMW dealers in Shipley rounded off with a trip to Squires for a proper coffee.
The Harley gang were with thier bikes when i came out of the cafe they were looking down their noses a bit at Gertie but i got there attention when i fired her up...she does sound sweet.
As Tom my broken armed buddy says Gertie sounds like a bike should sound...as he rides a Kawasaki VN1500 im not sure he would know anyway.

Oh I do love that Wensleydale cheese! [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] Better: "I do like a little bit of cheese!" Thinking about Wallace's hands here!
Derek and I drove all around the Dales in 1991,94 and 95 and I would love to ride it on a bike. It's in the 'bucket' List
