Title: Allied Ride
Post by: montmil on July 02, 2010, 08:19:52 AM
I'm off to the Allied Ride this Saturday 03 July 2010. http://www.alliedride.org/

I'm sure they will be a couple H-Ds in attendance. Snaps in a few days.

Hey, Lucky Lou... Are you holding up the British end? [smiley=thumbup.gif]

Monte, you know that I'd be riding as your wing man on this outing except, well I have a busted wing as a result of losing a bar room fight with a roller derby queen.  Consequently SWMBO grounded me from all m/c related adventures for a few weeks, so what can I do?  But I'll be on my little Triumph just off of your starboard side in spirit.  Take snaps and tell us how it goes.

1900 hours, Friday, 02 July 10

Weather is not looking good. Began solid rain about 1715 hours and still falling steadily. Forecast is for more rain this evening and 1-2 inches on Saturday. Ugh...

Monte,
You must be getting the edge of Hurricane (probably Tropical Storm now) Alex.  I was wondering if any of you guys would be getting hit with that.

Just as well for you, Mr. Phorqs.  You need to get that wing healed  up.  Mrs. Phorqs knows best.   ;)

The former hurricane know as Alex swirled up out of Mexico and freight-trained over us from Friday afternoon through Saturday. Some minor localized flooding. We needed it but the rain and winds made for a total washout of my attempt to get into east Texas.  :(

I'd like to do a solo ride to the RAF cemetery after the weather fronts move through.

Lou, I can vouch for Monte about the rain.  It was definitely a frog strangler around here all week long.  We've gotten almost 7 inches of rain in the past week in this area.   Monte, let me know when you're going to make that ride.  I may just slip the surly bonds of my arm sling and make a short run over to Terrel.
