What a great day, meet Pete at 9.30am & finished the run at 5.30pm. The weather was spot on, & the roads where even better (well expect for the M4), but you have to take the good with the bad. We did about 300km's, we had no real drama's, Pete's sidestand was playing games & i had front brake fluid seeping from the underneath the lever somewhere (will be looking into it tomorrow). Both R65's did not miss a beat, singing & purring along all day long 8-).
Anyhow here's a few pics of the day, Pete will post his pics real soon.

Thanks for the great ride Pete :)

Cool! I was going to say you were outside your lane in the curve pic, but luckily I checked to see what country you were in first. ;D
-
That is so neat, seeing two of you together like that. Same paint, too! [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

Hey Dav,
That was a great ride - can't wait till the next one where ever that may be..
The bike is running smoother too - must have been that leg up from Lithgow to Mt Vic flushing the cobwebs out.
I have a couple of photo's to add.
The machines!

So put names to those faces, please. :)
I got Dav and Pete, but which one is on the left and which is on the right?
Great pictures. Looks like you guys had a marvelous ride.
-
That'd be me in the orange shirt.
Wish I had thought about tucking my shirt in the photo with the machines! - oh well next time.
-
Fine stuff, lads, mechanical and scenery-wise. Except for brand names (and the unleaded fuel) he old petrol stop could have been at a Vermont crossroads. I wonder if those were typical of the roads in your area, or did you have to hunt them up?
-
The two bikes are almost identical, it was like one of those "spot the difference" pictures for motorcyclists.
. painted engine head covers
. pannier racks
. mirrors
hmm thats three was there more. Do I win a prize? ;D
Beautiful photos, i haven't been to the blue mountains in years.
It's a bit too flat here in Darwin.

I hope you don't mind - I added your names to the picture of you two! :)

Steve, that road (Bells Line Of Road) is roughly 1 hour ride to get to, getting there is right royal pain in the you know what, getting out of Sydney & way from all the moran car drivers, traffic lights etc....But worth it in the long run.
John (Darwin), would you believe Pete's & my bike were built one month apart, Pete's black beast was built in Nov 81 & mine was built in Dec 81 8-).
Rob, thanks for putting our names to our ugly mugs :)
-
Rockers Dav n' Pete rock! Great photos. Thanks, guys. [smiley=beer.gif]

Other differences
Dav's bike is show-bike shiny.
Side covers
Hey Dav and Paul,
How does may look for another ride?
What are your thoughts on this route? - A big round about for riding without the need to double up on roads.

They are great shots. I hope to be on the next ride. My silver LS will add another colour (and an angular theme) to the ride.
Mind you I will look a dag in my Dririder jacket against those cool leather ones. And then there is my white Imperial Stormtrooper helmet ...
-
Very cool! 8-) Love those pics. And, love to see you guys riding together. Nice to put faces to people here. Very cool action photo too.
But I agree with Ed about which side of the road you guys are riding on. It's almost disconcerting just to see someone riding on the "other" side of the road. :D
-
I would like to see you guys visit the town of Wagga Wagga! What a great name for a town! (Probably a bit far for a day ride, huh?)
-
I agree that it is so nice to have pics to go with the names!!!
So, girls, another great reason to travel to Australia wouldn't you agree!!!! ;)
-
Wagga, been a long time since I've been there. When i was in the Air Force, that was where our training school was based, but everyone called it just Wagga.
Stinking hot during Summer in the 40's and during winter a wind that came straight off the Snowy mountains. A place of extreme temperatures.
