Well, I finally made my reservations in Indianapolis for the 2009 Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP event! Rob, we're staying at the same place as last year. Maybe we can meet up again this year.
I've been reliving last year's event ....

Anyone else planning on heading that way this year?
I'm starting to get excited.... :D

Let's hope it doesn't get red flagged and "race called" due to rain as it did last year.

I'll be here, Aïda. Let me know if you need my phone #.
Dates are 28-30 August, BTW.
-
And we're off...headed to Indy today. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] I'm taking my Valentine Rossi book to try and get an autograph. We'll see how that goes...
Rob, I still have your number in my phone from last year. As long as it's the same, we'll give you a call once we get settled in. Are you still working nights?
-
Phone is the same. Still working nights. I have Saturday and Sunday free.

While visiting the US earlier this month, we were driving pass the Iowa Raceway, near Newton, IA.
I was really hoping to see some Nascars on the track for the first time in my life..........but unfortunately we had to leave without any luck.......

Hmmmmm...... I wonder if Aida got her Rossi book autographed....? ;)

Hope she caught up with him before he went off! Looked high ticked, Rossi did. Monte

:'( Nope, no autograph. So Graham put a jinx on him - and it worked! ::)
Had a fabulous time and got plenty of autographs, just not Rossi's. Missed catching up with Rob. Had cell phone issues and couldn't get his number. Sorry Rob! I hate we missed out on a visit.
-
Bummer, girl. :( Hope you and Graham still had a big time!
Also hope you got some good pics to post, at least! Looking forward to seeing them!

I watched most of the race on TV (I had free tickets, but I gave them to my nephew - I hate crowds), then I retired to the garage to continue work on the bike, but my overhead light kept going out.
I live in a rental, and the PO of the house had wired the garage lights to turn on when you turned on the back porch lights. And they had to plug in to an outlet on a rafter. So if I wanted my porch light on (every night) but wanted my garage dark, I had to unplug the lights. And the plugs were getting flaky.
So I finally went to the hardware store and bought what I needed to run wires to a new switch by the door! Life is good again!
But if you had called, Aïda, I would have been all hot and sweaty and it would have taken me an hour to get down to you. I just figured you guys were tired from a full weekends' events.
Was there a Mile Race again? If so, did you guys go?
-
Yes Rob, they ran the Mile again on Saturday night, but we did not attend this year. Kenny Roberts, Sr. ran some laps on his old flattracker with Rossi and others in attendance.
We did see the new R1000SS at the BMW tent...

I'm currently uploading my photos and videos to photobucket. I bought a new digital camera this year and it took some nifty little videos! (Thanks to NCSteve for the camera recommendation) The photobucket link...

but you may want to wait a little while. This uploading is taking a LONG time because of the videos. I didn't realize photobucket would accept video clips as well, but there they are! I have only downloaded the first day so far.
Oh yeah, we took some REAL pictures as well, but the film has to be developed first. ::)
