Hey, Trolle!
I was in your neighborhood yesterday! Check it out! ::)

Nice, but then again Denmark is nice, especially on the one day of summer like today.
City of the dogw?? festival? Sounds interestering and makes you wonder what kind of festival we are having in Denmark.
btw where is Denmark situated?
greetings from a nice and sunny north
-
Actually, the sign says, "Home of the Dogwood Festival", which is a common tree in SC. Denmark is located in the "midlands" of SC, about 60 miles southwest of Columbia, our state capital.
My friend and I also visited Norway that same day! It's about 10 miles from Denmark. Supposedly, the small community of Sweden was also nearby, but we were unable to find it. :(

Reminds me of a signpost I saw out in the boonies up in Maine that has
Paris, Norway, Lisbon, and Oxford each pointing in its own direction at a 4-way intersection.
I used to have a picture of Moscow, Vermont somewhere around here..

Mike,
Did you know that Vermont also has these cities with foreign names?
Athens, Berkshire, Berlin, Bethel, Brighton, Bristol, Canaan, Peru, and Windsor!
-
Yup - Actually I grew up in Vermont, but you won't see a signpost with all those names on it as they are very spread out around Vermont.
My brother lives in Berkshire, and Windsor is actually the "Birthplace of Vermont" (where it was first chartered and the state constitution was drawn up).
Actually Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine each have their own towns of "Berlin" - don't know if that means anything as we have relatively few people of German ancestry up here.

My riding buddy and I have been going to these different "international" towns and cities and getting our pictures taken in order to get a cool "World Traveler" patch offered by US Rider News magazine. All you have to do is get your pic snapped in 6 different towns and cities that are on the list put out by the magazine. No time limit, and they don't all have to be from the state you live in, either. If you want more info on the "World Traveler" project, visit the magazine's web site, which is: www.usridernews.com and click on the "World Traveler" link. The free patch you get is pretty neat looking, I think! [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

That sounds like a pretty good project for the summer ! Though I could hit (6) of those towns in my state in a single afternoon without even trying hard. I can't believe that they don't have Moscow, Vermont on the list - I'm sure that someone will speak up to add it.
Is the publication any good ?- I confess to never having read one of those particular periodicals.
-
Well, although it is more aimed at the Harley rider, I've found there are usually one or two articles in each issue that sport-touring and "regular" riders enjoy reading. And you can't beat the price! (Free!) ;)
You can pick up US Rider News at most bike dealers or bike accessory and parts stores, and most any bar or tavern where bikers congregate!
