Just arrived home last evening. LRB outdid himself! He got me home safely and he continues to amaze me in his ability to take the oh,oh out of any questionalbe road conditions if I start to panic. That darn concussion was busy trying to convince me that there was trouble in river city yet LRB would have nothing to do about it and proceeded to merrily get me around every sharp turn, switchback and through all gravel, soggy field grass, mud and by any and all cliffs!! Well done LRB. He did start to leak a bit of oil out of that thingmajig that is on the left side just back of the rear pushrod tube grommet. It seems to screw into the engine compartment and has a wee wire running out of it. It dribbles a very small modicum of oil so I will replace it when I find out what it is!! :-[
The R65 flag is now home with Aida, the Betsy Ross of our R65 forum here!! Just so ya all know it was dutifly folded in a proper flag regimental treatment of triangles and presented with a flourish!! I sure hope it doesn't have to travel as much this year, making members feel better and heal faster!
The 2 rallies were fun. The best part was seeing nhmaf, Neal, Bengt Phorks, John, Aida and Graham and having some time to talk over good music and good beer. Saw other old friends too. Somehow, Nhmaf managed to follow my questionable description of where I was camped at the MOA and got himself some field space very nearby. So he was party to my discovering again that LRB spews out final drive oil all over his white wheel rims only when he travels fast and long, like the I-81 sections of my trip. Mostly I travelled 219 all the way like Nhmaf's 220 hwy. Those are long long hwys. with lots of curves! Anyhoo, LRB leaks out oil because...hold on for this...because he wasn't breathing out his rear!!! Honestly. Breather hole is in the domed, mushroom shaped filler cap and I did NOT know this.

Great to hear you got home safely !!!
The oil leak on the left side of the engine, is the engine low oil pressure switch, it turns the low oil pressure light on the tachometer, if oil pressure drops too low .
The R65 is a confidence inspiring bike, if you 'listen' to what it is telling you about the conditions you are riding through .

Welcome home, Sue!! Glad you made it home safe and sound. Sounds like your trip on LRB was a good, confidence inspiring one. Hang in there and each trip will get more and more comfortable.
You have any great pics you want to share with the crowd?

Yeah Sue! Glad you had a great trip. It was quite a pleasure getting to meet you. Mike said just look for the little woman wearing the red R65 hat and there you were. Mrs. Phorqs and I covered 10 states in 11 days, for 3200 miles. Seemed like about 1/2 of it was in the pouring rain.
Be sure and give you little guy a fresh bucket of quality lube oil. No doubt he deserves it.

Glad to hear that you are home safe and sound, Sue !!!
It is alot of fun to go on a tour, but just like Dorothy said, "There is no place like home" after a long "road trip", yellow-bricked or otherwise!
:)
