Title: Long way Round - at age 70
Post by: Danie on December 03, 2008, 01:49:29 AM
Just when I thought Charlie Boorman's long trips were really impressive, I stumbled across Ted Simon's website - back in 1977, he undertook a four year motorcycle trip around the world - through Africa, the Americas, New Zeeland, across Asia, to Europe.  He covered 78 000 miles on a 500 cc Triumph.

Twenty five years later (during 2001) - at the age of 70 ,he did it all again, this time on a Beemer .........and there seem to be more trips on it's way !

P.S. Suddenly I am feeling very young again !

WOW!  Something about "You're only as old as you feel"....

I've got to get off my a** and do more riding.

 ;)

"You're only as old as you feel"....

no, actually the correct quote is "You're only as old as the women you feel".....an entirely different meaning.........

So, trying to maintain my eternal youth, I prefer under 50's.....
