Title: Return from the Gathering
Post by: jusgus on June 16, 2008, 07:32:02 AM
Well I had a good time and I enjoyed it.  It was nice to see some other 65's and their riders.  I probably enjoyed a little too much barley but I am fine now.
As ussual I came early and left late.  I pulled out about 10:30 Sunday and had a great ride home, about 200 miles.  The weather was good but when I got to SC I took off my hat and got sunburned.
I hope I can go again next year. "If nothing don't happen."

jusgus, it was great to meet you!  It was a nice to surprise to find another R65er there that we weren't expecting.  I know Rob liked your bronco brown R65 - I saw him taking pictures... :D

That'll teach you to ride without your hat!  (https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi129.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fp210%2Fcabcgec%2Fredsmiley.gif&hash=b3edffed388e7682fa515ac7ab867e36e9f298fe)

I'm glad you came, Gus, and had a good time.  It was great to see so many R65's there, that did not know of our organizing!

For those that were asking, my trip from Indianapolis was about 750 miles.
I wanted to take the backroads home, but impatience won out over comfort and fun, and I ended up blasting on the interstate once I got back to the tri-cities area of Tennessee.  But I got home to my cat, and she has forgiven me.

I had fun at the rally, and it was great to meet the faces behind the profiles, but I'm not too sure about this long distance stuff (I keep telling myself...).

Oh, and my final drive is puking oil.

Oh oh - oil coming out of the top "vent" tube, or inside, or ????

At least your girl got you home safely before she cried for help !
